On Tuesday, July 25th we were joined by almost 200 golfers to help commemorate 25 Years of Heathlands, a special celebration of our most senior course reaching a quarter-century milestone.
The day began to the sounds of the bagpipes drifting across the property, officially kicking off the festivities. Following the piper was our special guest, Heathlands architect and Ontario Golf Hall of Fame member, Doug Carrick, who took to the tee for the honourary first shot.
All day golfers teed off under the warm summer sun, enjoyed being in great company and played Heathlands in its original layout! After playing a round like it was 1992 attendees were greeted at the 18th tee with their choice of a cold farm-raised beer from our friends and neighbours at GoodLot Farmstead Brewing or a shot of scotch. A mixture of Heathlands veterans and newcomers united to toast to another successful 25 years!
The piper returned to the first tee to help close out the last foursome, but over on the patio the evening was just getting started! The reception began with a few words from OVG’s President, Chris Humeniuk, our General Manager, Brad Pinnell, and the man of the day, Doug Carrick, they each addressed the crowd and gave thanks for the support over the years.
Staying true to tradition, a hearty Scottish dinner followed and guests enjoyed their meals while listening to local band, Your New Neighbours. The upbeat and energetic cover band had everyone dancing and singing along as the sun began to set for the night. It was a fantastic way to end the unforgettable day.
A big thank you to everyone who joined us and to those who couldn’t make it, we hope to see you soon! We also want to recognize and express our gratitude for all our employees who make Osprey Valley what it is!
Cheers to another 25 Years of Heathlands and a bright future in Osprey Valley!
