OVG End of Season Newsletter

What a Season!

Time truly does fly when you’re having fun. It’s hard to believe that seven months have passed since we opened for the 2017 season. As we park the carts and put away the clubs, we have to take a moment to thank the entire Osprey Valley Golf family - our staff, partners and guests! - for helping make this a season to remember.

From our 25 Years of Heathlands extravaganza to our wildly popular monthly Night for the Ladies & Nine and Dine events and the myriad of tournaments that we were honoured to host, we welcomed many new and old faces - shoutout to our new friends from Bermuda! All of you helped make this a season special.

And we can’t help but look forward to next year. We have some great things in the planning stages and look forward to telling you about them soon. We hope you all enjoy a healthy and prosperous off season, but don’t forget to stay in touch to hear about what’s coming next year and over the next 25 years!

All aboard the Santa Express!

Each year St. Nick and his group of elves take a brief pause from their busy schedule of constructing toys at the workshop and make the journey across the Niagara Escarpment from Orangeville to Brampton, welcoming families of all ages to the Santa Train!

After boarding, guests will receive all of Santa’s favourites including fresh-baked gingerbread cookies and hot chocolate as carols ring through the train-cars. Throughout the journey, Santa will personally visit each guest, delivering a special gift and posing for pictures, before he makes his trek back to the North Pole in preparations for the big day!

Joining Santa on his train this year? Be sure to upload and tag us in your pictures as the train roll through Osprey Valley! Who knows what you may catch our elves doing in our preparations for next season.

Empty Bowls in Alton

The 8th annual Empty Bowls fundraiser was held on October 22nd at the Alton Mill Arts Centre.

This wonderful event featured a luncheon and dinner where specialty soups donated from local restaurants/catering companies were served in handmade bowls. Guests were able to keep their dish as a reminder that not everyone in the community is fortunate enough to have a meal or access to food.

Empty Bowls is an international project aimed at raising awareness and fighting hunger one bowl at a time. The initiative is personalized by artists and art organizations on the community level and all proceeds from the Alton event has gone towards food banks in the area.

Last year local stoneware and raku potter, Ann Randeraad, was recognized for a Headwaters Tourism Award for her efforts and execution of this event.

We look forward to participating again next year!
